BASE UWS

UWS Base is an intelligent system that goes beyond the concept of pure organization and places the bike at the centre as it should be. The flexible installation is designed for floor heights of 220 cm to 300 cm - from the basement to the garage and, better still, directly into the apartment. The base construction is made up of two round wooden units that are laid out in opposite directions and fixed at the respective height of the panel with support brackets. After a final adjustment with the filetées, which must be used to securely fix the UWS base to the floor and the ground, the installation is complete.

The foundation of Urban Wood Systems is based on enthusiasm for the bicycle, which is considered to be a daily but also a special thing. It is with this same enthusiasm that the photographer and cycling enthusiast Jürgen Grünwald approached the March Gut design studio to jointly realize a vision: a new approach to the dominant idea of how to ride a bicycle. Including clothing. And inside the apartment. This gave product designers and defenders of alternative urban transportation a double motivation.
